Temple College of Chiropody is asking for donations. Why ? Because as of July, they have less than 60 people to begin the first year at the college. That’s right folks. Less than half the usual number of students. They say that nobody accepts reality until it hits you in the face. So there it is. You’d think with immigration and migration, judging from the pictures and names you cannot pronounce in PM News, that the schools would be swelling with students. The end is nigh.
Foreign medical schools, DO schools, PA and NP training, are sequestering students who in the past would have considered podiatry. And now they are opening another school !!!!!! The APMA has been too busy stuffing their personal pockets to address this problem. Now it is too late.
The USMLE fiasco reinforced what some would argue are vulnerabilities of podiatry. Anyone reading PM News would ask what kind of profession is this ? Shoes, toenails, idiotic commentaries. These are realities that the profession, PM News, APMA, have wanted you to ignore. That’s right. All these people have gotten rich and fat. No thoughts about advancing the FUTURE of podiatry. This will not affect anyone now. Everyone is making money, busy, couldn’t care less about the future.
Fewer podiatrists starting 5 years from now means busy for the survivors. So who cares really. APMA will beg corporations for money. Schools will disappear. Retract. Residencies will fail to fill, and maybe, just maybe, crap residencies like the one run by Larry Santi and other similar nobodies will disappear. PA’s and NP’s will provide foot evaluation and some care. The remaining podiatrists will finally be surgeons. Heaven at last !
There is no reason to assume the recruitment crisis will change, it will not. The fault lies squarely on the APMA and those who continue to support this quasi-criminal self serving gang of fat hucksters. It is akin to watching the Hunter Biden saga. Things are changing, podiatry will not disappear. You will make your money, treat your heel spurs, sell your orthotics, cut your toenails, do your surgeries. But the times are changing.
And it is clear that good college students see less and less desire for podiatry. The numbers speak for themselves. There is no denying the facts.

DPMs Hate Facts

After listening to the APMA president speak on how she think DPMs have achieved Parity, the Chiropractors quickly announced they are equal to orthopedic surgeons. Ignorance is no way to go through life Mrs. APMA President. A limited license after 7 years of Pod school and no students applying to Pod school, you should have been giving a Eulogy. Anyone with 1/2 a brain doesn’t believe a word you said. Stop the APMA BS, have heard it for 22 years, that’s why I stopped paying dues. You guys lie too much and do very little.

DPMs R not =

APMA president can be male, female or transgender, does not matter they spew the company narrative, all falsehoods, no substance, no action, to help the working DPM. The result is no applicants to the Podiatry colleges. NO full license = no income. Everything else the APMA promotes is meaningless and has no impact on income generation or professional protection from PAs and NPs. The fail to see….Any one professional can do foot and ankle care.

Robert, did you even look at the website http://www.journalofdermoscopy.com And review the PowerPoint presentations and videos. Podiatric Dermoscopy improves the standard of care by providing additional information about structures and patterns invisible to the naked eye. Thus we make better informed decisions whether to biopsy or not. Concepts such as these were taught in texts such as the Atlas of Dermoscopy, meetings at Institutions such as Memorial Sloane Kettering, and lecturers such as Dr Ash Marghoob. One of the many Dermoscopy texts I bought contains self assessment exams to monitor your progress. Perhaps the new standard of care should includeRead more »

Capt Pickard was chosen bc she believes. She wouldn’t be standing where she’s standing if she had independent thoughts, or critical thinking skills. She’s there bc she’s obedient, compliant, and easily psy opd. Think the brain damage that most have regarding the zelinskyy regime. The propaganda is outstanding. Really excellent. Plus add in the scamdemic with its required “vaccine” that didn’t do shit. Mortality is up, natality is down. Fantastic. Can’t bullshit truth folks. Giddy up kids for the onward and downward. Little known podiatry secrets. Many years ago when I was finishing my “residency ” in NY, a glitz developed at DMV. They were giving MD license plates to podiatrists. My “colleagues ” rushed to get them. However, when they were stopped by police because of their medical plates to help at the site of a traffic accident, they quickly turned them in. Years later, we got our own DPM plates. Beneath was printed the word “podiatrist “. I got mine, but a lot of my fellow podiatrists didn’t. They were surgeons and/or foot orthopedists. This also reminds me of theRead more »

Robert, it is important that we work together with our brothers to help all the people and build each other up in this short life. We are here to help people because that is what life is about. Let’s not be selfish with our knowledge and share it with others, like the Journal of Dermoscopy. It is great that we all can have opinions and share them with others. I need to step out of my regular criticisms of podiatry to acknowledge the passing of a local podiatrist here, David Davidson, DPM. Though we may not have agreed politically I have to credit him with a total devotion to podiatry and admit he worked assiduously to make the best out of a profession that has many challenges. My sincere condolences to his family, his partners, and the WNY podiatry community that he represented.

Brother Robert, some people are visual learners and retain information read. This can enable some podiatrists to upgrade their skill set, scrub with others who can perform such care independently and upgrade their skills.
Thus formal podiatry residency training can be bypassed and informal training accomplished resulting in competent podiatric care. This is how I succeeded in obtaining licenses in multiple states and hospital privileges. We are all in this together in this short life. Let us respect each other and help our communities be the best they can be. These are my opinions only

“Show me evidence that the A.M.A. (not aPma) recognizes INFORMAL PARADIGMS.”
By the way, the AMA and the APMA are not charged with credentialing applicants for license.
In New Jersey, the New Jersey’s Board of Medical Examiners is responsible for a podiatric physician becoming licensed to treat the ankle and lower leg as per the New Jersey Statute. In some cases, they look beyond formal certified podiatric residency programs and give consideration to informal training and or experience, and other credentials before granting a license to practice.

The above are my opinions only.

We were all lied to. If all you’ve ever known is the shadows in Plato’s cave, then how can you be expected to know what exists outside? You can’t. They can’t put themselves in their opposition’s shoes (even if those shoes are “silly”) and have empathy; thus not understanding why they’re on a ship that’s sinking. Empathy deficient. No one who is rational can make a coherent argument to attend podiatry “school” nor donate to it. Might as well ‘donate’ to fix a tear down house, or repair a 18 year old refrig. These pods will not acknowledge their mistakes. It’s a huge blind spot for them. They admit they’re wrong. No humility, they’re all “geniuses”. It’s a gambler who only knows to ‘double down.’

Podiatry, like that tear down house needs to be completely replaced NOT repaired.

NO one chooses p school. It chooses you bc of low grades, DPM –Didn’t Pass Mcat, mediocrity in general, and the unknown/low tier undergrad. It’s generally a mix of factors with mediocrity being the “soup thickener.”

P school is a 3rd /4th rate option for those trying to save face after being rejected from real med school. Be honest with yourselves. As Caddy Pod states–it’s a lame excuse for a failed dream. BUT–it’s better to be a fake somebody, than a real nobody.

All very frightening. Podiatrists talk prescribing insulin and learning brain surgery because they can’t earn a living practicing podiatry. In 2022 who is going to invest SEVEN years and probably 250,000$ in a limited ancillary medical career? I work daily with NP and PA in a community health center. They are trained and licensed (Daniel, please understand podiatrists are neither) to manage localized and systemic diseases in the ENTIRE body. Don’t forget that a splinter is sharp object in the skin and a bright light helps see it. That’s the depth of a foot technician. And, Levy is PROUD that 1 POD OUT OF 1,500 can touch an ankle! The “glass ceiling” is broken, he reasons. Can you believe the damaged minds behind these statements? Red Shoes that look like shopping baskets seem to be ok to the 15,000 pods who Barry Block markets their e mails. What kind of “dr” is proud of shopping basket shoes? This is a sick, dirty profession and the PROOF is ubiquitous. 60 STUDENTSRead more »

As a licensed podiatrist, we are doctors, and can learn from each other and MDs. http://www.journalofdermoscopy.com can be a good place to start learning different ways to help people live their best lives. The only enemy is the disease itself not our community. These are my opinions only.

Delusional, Barry Block, C+ students, now turned lifers, are hearing nails across the black board here. The Podiatry CON can’t abide the truth, so it sends negative voters to GIVE THE ILLUSION of disagreement. Know that a complex protective mechanism of machinations is required to keep a good CON going. Dirty men can’t fight fairly. Dirty men can’t dialogue. Dirty men can’t ever be more than DIRTY MEN. Those DIRTY men make podiatry a DIRTY PROFESSION.
