Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of the staff.

The practice uses automation technologies so that only the relevant medical information is included in referral letter.

Our practice is committed to preventative care. Your doctor may seek your permission to be included on our reminder system and National Registers i.e. Pap smear and we may then issue you with a notice from time to time offering preventative health services appropriate to your care. If you wish to opt out of this service, please notify our reception.

Home/Nursing visits can be made if you live within the local area and are too sick to come to the practice. A home visit can be arranged at a convenient time, usually during the doctor's lunch break or at the end of their session. It is best to ring early in the day if a home/nursing home visit is required.

Please discuss with your Doctor when to expect the results of any tests and procedures and how you can get these results. Please contact us to book an appointment to obtain your results as we may not always be able to reach you, especially if you have moved and your contact information has not been updated. Our staff are happy to discuss any concerns or questions you have regarding our recall and reminder system.

Patients who do not speak or read English or who are more proficient in another language, or who have special communication needs, are offered the choice of using the assistance of a language service to communicate with the Doctor or clinical team members.

The National Relay Service (NRS) for patients that are deaf or the translation and Interpreter service (TIS) Doctors Priority Line (1300 131 450) for patients from a not English speaking background.

Should your needs be urgent our staff are trained to triage patients request either over the phone or in person and will assist with appointments and assessment by the nurse or Doctor as deemed necessary. If your need is an emergency you may be asked to phone an ambulance or have someone take you to the hospital emergency department for care.

Doctors in this practice may be contacted (if available) by phone during normal surgery hours. However, when the Doctor is with a patient, a message will be taken and your call will be returned as soon as possible. If your call is considered urgent, it will be treated as such and will be put straight through to the doctor.
